My name is Tasmin Edwards, and I am currently at the start of embarking on a new journey through make-up artistry and hair design. Prior to starting this university course, I have just completed my A-levels. The crossover path for me was fine art - this was my most passionate subject at A-level, but whilst completing the 2 years, I realised that it was the preparation for the pieces that I enjoyed more than actually drawing/painting the piece. The preparation process involved getting a model ready (through the use of make-up and hair) and this is the thing that I wanted to concentrate on. This course will allow me to specialise and expand my techniques in make-up and hair, and hopefully allow me to be enthusiastic about all areas.
At this point in time, I am unsure of exactly what I want to do after the course, but I am leaning towards the fashion side of things (e.g. working on a fashion shoot/fashion show). However, I am approaching this course very open-mindedly, and I am looking to explore all areas of make-up and hair design, before I make an informed decision of the specific direction I want to head into.
